Woman Charged With Using Bad Check At Westport Shoe Store

WESTPORT, Conn. — A 34-year-old New Haven woman accused of using a bad check at a Westport shoe store back in July was arrested Friday, Feb. 21, on a warrant, police say.

Lacie Bland purchased merchandise from the store in July 2013 using a check from a closed account, according to the police report. Bland, police say, purposefully altered the check to hide the true account number.

Bland was charged with second-degree forgery, a felony, and sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. She was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on March 3.
