Stefanie Wiedman, 35, of Garden Lane, was charged with DWI and interfering with a police officer after the accident on Green Farms Road, police said.

Westport officers said that when they arrived at the scene of the crash they found Wiedman sitting on the ground outside of her vehicle with a distinct odor of alcohol on her breath and red and glassy eyes. When officers tried to speak with Wiedman she became combative and began arguing and swearing at the officers, police said.

Westport Police Officer Ashley DelVecchio submitted a search warrant for the alcohol content. The State of Connecticut toxicology lab reported Wiedman’s BAC was 0.21, nearly 3 times the legal limit of 0.08.

A warrant was issued for Wiedman’s arrest and she turned herself in at police headquarters.
