On June 1, a Volvo C70 convertible driven by Harry Nicklin, of Morningside Lane, crashed into a tree on Morningside Drive North. Nicklin, who had to be extricated from the car, was hospitalized. Two of the passengers sustained minor injuries and the third sustained moderate injuries, fire officials said at the time of the accident.

When officers arrived at the scene, Nicklin’s breath smelled of alcohol and he later admitted to drinking beer before the crash, the police report said.

A search warrant later revealed that Nicklin’s blood-alcohol content was more than eight times the legal limit for a person his age, police said. The legal limit for people under 21 is 0.02.

Nicklin turned himself in to police Saturday on a warrant and was released after posting $250 bond. He is due at Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 22.
