WESTPORT, Conn. -- Members of the Westport Police Department, Westport Domestic Violence Task Force and Y's Men recently joined together to raise awareness for domestic violence.
In observance of October being National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, they greeted commuters during the morning hours and provided literature from the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) of Norwalk, which provides domestic violence services to the area. Commuters were asked to take a look at the information when they had time or to pass it along to someone in need of help.
Anyone who knows a victim of domestic violence seeking assistance, the DVCC is a resource and can be reached via the 24 hour toll-free hotline, 1-888-774-2900.
