Shenice Green, 28, of Bridgeport, and Mierieke Blackwood, 28, of the Bronx, N.Y., were each charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Green was also charged with interfering with an officer and breach of peace. Blackwood posted $500 bond and Green posted $1,000 bond, and both will appear in court May 19.

Officers responded to Home Goods on Saturday afternoon on a report of a disturbance, police said. When they arrived, employees told them that Green and Blackwood had attempted to steal merchandise by hiding it inside an ottoman they had purchased, police said.

When confronted by employees, the two women started an argument and created a disturbance in the store, according to police reports.

Green resisted arrest while the officers were taking the two into custody, police said. Through an investigation officers also learned that the two women had initially given false names, police said.
