WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Police Department will promote four officers in a ceremony on Friday, Dec. 11.
Sergeant Anthony Prezioso will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He was hired in 2006 and received the Samuel J. Luciano award after graduating at the top of his class at the Connecticut Police Academy.
Prezioso was appointing acting sergeant in January 2013, promoted to permanent rank of sergeant later nine months later. He is currently a supervisor in the Detective Bureau.
Acting Sergeant Robert Meyer will be promoted to the rank of sergeant. He was hired in 1992 and appointed acting sergeant in 2014. He has served in a variety of assignments throughout his career, including in the Marine Division, and has received many awards for lifesaving and exemplary police work.
Meyer is currently the team commander of the Westport Police/Fire Dive Rescue Team and a negotiator with the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team.
Detective Sereniti Dobson was hired in July 2006 and worked as a marine officer. She was promoted to the rank of detective in 2009. She is a member of the Governor's Taskforce on Justice for Abused Children, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and a member of the Technical Investigation Unit.
Dobson is also a member of the Westport Youth Commission, establishing the Westport-Youth Collaborative, which fosters and builds relationships between youth and the police.
Corporal Richard Bagley was hired in February 2006 and appointed corporal in 2014. He is a field training officer, a member of the Westport Police/Fire Dive Rescue Team and the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team.
The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. in the Westport Police Department classroom.
