A woman called the Westport Police Department to report she was being harassed by Donato Rinaldi, 40, of Watertown, police said.

In addition to the 98 calls she did not answer on Sept. 8, the victim said she received several text messages from Rinaldi on Monday, police said.

An order of protection in place barred Rinaldi from contact the with complainant unless the communication was in regard to a business they once shared, but the complainant said these calls were not business-related, police said.

Rinaldi was taken into custody at Norwalk Superior Court, where he was appearing on a separate case. He was charged with second-degree harassment and criminal violation of a protective order, police said.

He was held on $50,000 bond and appeared in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday, police said.
