John Lahey, 39, is facing charges of tampering with evidence, interfering with an officer and breach of peace, all of which stem from the death of Sandokan Kayan Harrell, whose body was found on Partrick Road last November. Lahey was also charged with violating his probation, TheHour.com said.

A jogger found Harrell's body on the side of Partrick Road on Nov. 15, and police immediately dubbed his death "suspicious."

Authorities believed that Harrell died in one location and was moved to the location on the side of the road after his death.

"The location of the body and the manner in which he was left on the side of the road appears to have been done by someone who both wanted him to be found and cared about him," Westport police Capt. Vincent Penna said in a statement  in November.

An affidavit says that Lahey was with Harrell on the evening of his death and that when he saw Harrell acting erratically, he put him in his car to find him help, thehour.com reported.

Lahey also say he tried to perform chest compressions when Harrell became unresponsive and that Harrell's body was too big to put back in the vehicle, so he attempted to put him in a position that looked peaceful, thehour.com said.
