Westport Police Bust Speeding Driver With Two Fake Licenses

WESTPORT, Conn. — A Norwalk driver stopped while traveling at a high rate of speed in Westport was busted with two fraudulent driver’s licenses, police said.

A Westport officer saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Hillspoint Road and Hales Road on Friday, police said. 

The car was stopped, and the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, police said. 

During a search of the vehicle, two fraudulent driver’s licenses were located as well as two fake business checks, police said. 

Andy Mitchell-Maynard, 22, of Norwalk, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree forgery and forgery of symbols. 

Mitchell-Maynard was additionally charged with the motor vehicle violations of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to drive in proper lane, and traveling unreasonably fast. 

He was released after posting $1,500 bond on the criminal charges. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Nov. 8.
