Westport Police Arrest Man With 22 Fake Credit Cards

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 23-year-old New York man was arrested Monday night in Westport and charged with producing 22 fraudulent credit cards, police said.

Joshua Dennison, of the Jamaica section of Queens, is accused of trying to buy a gift card at Walgreens using several credit cards, each of which was denied, police said. This is a common sign of fraudulent credit card use, police said.

A witness provided police with a description of the car Dennison left in, and he was later pulled over, police said. In searching the car, officers found 22 fake credit cards, each with Dennison’s name on it, police said. Each credit card had similar account numbers as well, the police report said.

Dennison was charged with 22 counts of unlawful completion/reproduction of a credit card, a felony; one count of illegal use of credit card, a misdemeanor; and one count of attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. He was held on $10,000 bond and was arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on Tuesday.
