Police charged Ian Parker, 25, with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $50,000, and he was held for a court appearance Friday.

Westport police released little information about the incident other than to say officers were called to a Saxon Lane residence at 6 a.m. Friday on a report of a disturbance and found a man lying in the middle of the street bleeding from his head. Police said Parker was sitting nearby.

The victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital, and Parker was taken into custody.

Police said the case was still under investigation.
