WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police arrested a 50-year-old oil truck driver last week after they said his vehicle was hindering the flow of traffic along a local roadway.
The driver, identified as Allen Pearson of Stamford, was blocking traffic with his truck on Railroad Place while pumping oil on Friday, Feb, 19, at about noon, according to police.
Pearson has been warned in the past not to block the roadway, according to police.
Pearson refused to move his truck until he was done pumping oil; he also refused to give the officers his license and registration paperwork, police said.
Pearson then tried several times to shut the door of the truck while officers ordered him to exit, according to police.
Pearson was taken out of the truck by the officers and placed under arrest, officials reported.
He was charged with interfering with an officer, according to police.
Pearson posted $500 bond, and has a court date in Norwalk on Monday, Feb. 29, officials said.
