WESTPORT, Conn. — A Westport man was arrested when he tried to break in to his ex-girlfriend’s Saugatuck Avenue home Sunday night, police said.

Jorge Torres, 28, of West End Road was charged with criminal violation of a protective order, attempt to commit second-degree burglary, disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief, police said.

Police were called by a neighbor who heard yelling and a man trying to break into the home, police said.

The victim said her ex-boyfriend was intoxicated and was trying to get in through a window, police said.

Torres was found and arrested at his home, police said.

He was held on $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court June 13, police said.
