Westport Man Arrested On Charges Of Strangling, Assaulting Wife

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 49-year-old Westport man was arrested on charges of assaulting and strangling his wife during a physical altercation, police said.

Joseph Jiampetro turned himself in Tuesday on an arrest warrant stemming from the June 17 incident, police said.

Jiampietro was charged with third-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He posted $10,000 bond and was given a court date of June 25 in Norwalk Superior Court.
