Westport Fire Department Swears In Its Newest Member

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Fire Department has added Michael Peck, of South Salem, N.Y., to its firefighting ranks.

Peck was sworn in by Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe during a ceremony at Fire Headquarters.

Peck is a graduate of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York. He has spent the last eight years serving as a volunteer firefighter in South Salem. He is a certified New York State Firefighter I and Firefighter II and is a Connecticut-certified EMT.

Peck will be undergoing initial department training during the next two weeks and will be assigned to a shift.
