Mark Bartolone, 50, of Morehouse Road, was charged with possession of narcotics, operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, operating under suspension and traveling unreasonably fast in the April 24 stop, police said.

He was held on $500 bond and is scheduled in court on May 3.

Around 6:45 p.m., an officer stopped Bartolone for driving too fast. The officer said he could smell alcohol in the car and saw a long, brown paper bag on the front seat that appeared to contain an alcoholic beverage, police said.

When he searched the vehicle, he found .04 grams of cocaine and several containers of alcohol, police said.

Bartolone failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a urine test, police said.
