WESTPORT, Conn. – The Saugatuck Train Station lot No. 1 improvement project is moving forward and train customers should be aware of parking lot closures and additional parking.
Contracts have been signed and construction in the parking lot is planned for early July. The parking lot will not be closed to commuters until construction begins. This does mean that closure may occur with limited notice. Once the parking lot is closed, temporary permit parking will be available across Saugatuck Avenue at the rear of lot No. 8. If needed, additional spaces will be provided at other areas as indicated on the maps pictured.
During construction, commuters are encouraged to utilize the existing shuttle service that runs from the Imperial Avenue parking lot to the door of the Saugatuck train station whenever possible. The Railroad Parking Division has been working with the Transit District to expand shuttle service if the need and ridership is there.
Additional permit parking areas will be opened up at Greens Farms station.
