Weston Police Force Looking To Hire A New Officer

WESTON, Conn. -- The Weston Police Department is now hiring to fill the position of Police Officer by Aug. 9.

The salary range is $55,121 to $78,155. Certified and noncertified applicants are encouraged to apply. Applications are available for download/printing by going to the department’s website at www.westonpolice.com under “Important Forms.”

Entry level applicants must be at least 21 years of age, be a U.S. citizen, and possess a high school diploma, or GED and a valid driver’s license. An associate’s degree or better in criminal justice is preferred, but not required. Applicants must currently hold, or be capable of obtaining, certification as a police officer from the Connecticut Police Officers Standards and Training Council.

The Weston Police Department’s testing process includes, but is not limited to, the successful completion of a 50 percent Cooper Standard Physical Agility Test (No “CHIP” cards will be accepted), a Written Test, Oral Board, Police Commission Interview, Background Investigation, Drug Screening, Polygraph Examination, Psychological Examination, and Medical Examination.

Applications will not be accepted after 3 p.m. Friday, April 3.

A $50 nonrefundable fee must be paid by each applicant at the time of the Physical Agility Test in the form of a certified bank check made out to “The Town of Weston” in order to participate in the process from that point on. Personal checks are not accepted.
