Brodacki will serve as the sergeant-in-charge as Troxell steps down at the end of the week, the story said. He is a 17-year veteran and a member of the Technical Investigation Unit for Southwest Connecticut. Troxell announced earlier this month he would retire, effective Feb. 25. His last day with the department was on Feb. 10 and he took unused vacation time for the final few weeks of his employment.

Troxell, 58, joined the department in 1981 and has been the chief since 2008. The town expects to interview between 2-5 candidates for the chief's position. Click here for the Weston Forum story.
