Water Main Break Closes Part Of Noroton Ave. In Darien Wednesday

DARIEN, Conn. -- Noroton Avenue is closed at the intersection with Middlesex Road in Darien on Wednesday morning due to a water main break, police said.

The road was closed at 7 a.m. Significant icy conditions are present, and the Department of Public Works is responding to salt and sand the area, Darien police said.

Traffic is temporarily being diverted to Edgerton Street, police said.

Regular officers are on the scene and extra duty officers are en route, police said.

Police said that once the scene is made safe and traffic officers arrive, it is expected that Noroton Avenue near Middlesex Road will operate as a one lane, alternating traffic pattern during the morning hours.
