The disturbance at about 4 p.m. started in the student center between two groups, police said Wednesday.

Greenwich Police said the incident was over "a convoluted personal matter concerning family members who were not present at the altercation."

During the dispute, a Greenwich teen struck another teenager, police said. The victim, who wasn't injured, tried to defuse the situation, left the student center and went out to the bus pickup and drop-off, police said.

However, the situation escalated outside as two Stamford teenagers struck other teens, but once again didn't cause any injuries, police said.

When school security staff arrived, the two Stamford teens began to verbally abuse them, spat at them and physically struck them but causing no injuries, police said.

During the whole dispute, a large group of students waiting for their buses watched the disturbance, police said.

A 17-year-old Stamford resident and a 16-year-old Stamford resident were each charged with first-degree criminal trespass and breach of peace. They were released to a guardian and will appear in juvenile court.

Greenwich detectives with the Special Victims Section are continuing to investigate. A third arrest of a Greenwich teenager is imminent, police said.

Anyone who was a witness to the dispute or is in possession of video of the incident is asked to contact the Greenwich Police Department's Criminal TipLine at: 203-622-3333 or 1-800-372-1176 or at tips@greenwichct.org.
