According to police, Gudzik approached the man, later identified as Tyler Johnson. Through an investigation, Gudzik determined that the suspect was in possession of items that did not belong to him, police said.

A further Investigation revealed that the items recovered at the scene were stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway near to where Gudzik first saw Johnson standing, police said.

An investigation into that vehicle and its occupants revealed that the operator of the vehicle, Maria Garby, had dropped Johnson off and was waiting for a call to pick him up.
