Trumbull Detective Honored For Tracking Down Dealers Linked To Overdoses

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Trumbull Police Detective Edgar Perez was honored by the U.S. Department of Justice and Drug Enforcement Administration for his diligent work with the Bridgeport DEA office.

Detective Perez played a pivotal role as a member of a Task Force that led to the arrest of 13 people associated with heroin trafficking and sales, which resulted in the death of at least four overdose victims. The investigation also led to the seizure of six firearms, assets, two vehicles and drug seizures of more than one kilogram of heroin and four kilograms of cocaine. 

Perez's work also led to important leads of investigations in Miami and New York City. 

Chief Michael Lombardo praised Detective Perez for his hard work and dedication to the case while assigned to the Bridgeport DEA office.
