At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the Trumbull Center, Long Hill and Nichols Fire Departments were dispatched to 175 White Plains Road, the home of the Blessed Lamb Preschool and Blessed Assurance Prayer Community, for a structure fire.
Upon arrival, units were met with heavy fire from the rear and roof of the structure. Although the fire is under investigation by the Trumbull Fire Marshal's office, it appears the fire started on the outside rear of the structure.
Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly one hour and 45 minutes, placing it under control at 6:18 p.m.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries wee reported.
Monroe Fire sent two units to help at the scene while Shelton provided station coverage in Trumbull Center.
