Three Hospitalized After Bus Accident In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – Three people were sent to Norwalk Hospital Thursday morning following an accident involving a BMW SUV and a Bridgeport-owned school bus, police said.

The bus, owned by People to Places, was carrying two Westport children to a summer program in Trumbull, Lt. John Pitoniak said in a release. The children, ages 9 and 13, were evaluated by Westport EMS and released to their parents at the scene.

The accident happened at approximately 8:30 a.m. near 60 Roseville Road. The front-end of the BMW was heavily damaged and the driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Pitoniak said.

The school bus driver and the bus monitor received minor injuries and were also transported to the hospital. The accident remained under investigation by the Westport Police Department Thursday afternoon.
