Taiwan Visitor To Westport Charged In Stabbing Of Brother With Scissors

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 36-year-old man visiting from Taiwan was arrested early Friday on charges of stabbing his brother in the head with a pair of scissors, Westport police said.

Westport police were called to a domestic dispute between two siblings at a home in the Greens Farms area at about 12:54 a.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, family members told them that the two brothers had recently come to visit from Taiwan with their father, police said.

They had gotten into a physical altercation, and Ya-Tung Liu, 36, had stabbed his brother, Ta-Pang Liu, 37, in the head with a with a pair of scissors, family members told police.

Ta-Pang Liu was treated for a cut to the head and released from Norwalk Hospital early Friday.

Ya-Tung Liu was charged with second-degree assault. He was held on $10,000 bond. He appeared in Norwalk Superior Court on April 4. No details were available on the court appearance.
