SUV Drives Into Building On Westport's Post Road

WESTPORT, Conn. – A driver pulling into the Painter's Supply parking lot at 413 Post Road E. stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake and slammed into the store Saturday at 6 p.m., a fire official said. 

The Lexus SUV shattered the store's glass windows and damaged a two-foot brick wall underneath. There was minimal damage to the car and no injuries, the official said. The store was closed at the time.

The Westport Fire Department responded to the incident.
