Police received a report from a homeowner on St. John's Place of a male attempting to get into his vehicle at approximately 1:14 a.m. The homeowner said the suspect was accompanied by two dark colored SUV's and a dark colored sedan, police said.

Patrol units sighted three vehicles matching the description on Route 15. The three vehicles fled at a high rate of speed when officers attempted to pull them over, according to police. Pursuit of a black Ford Edge continued on Weston Road until icy conditions and high speeds forced authorities to pull back, police said.

Officers also located a juvenile male walking in the area of Weston Road and Route 15, where the pursuit began. The juvenile was detained and found to be involved with the criminal activity of the parties involved in the pursuit, police said.

While questioning the juvenile, the Ford Edge drove past on Weston Road. Officers once again pursued the vehicle. The suspect driving attempted to sideswipe and ram the pursuing squad cars, police said. The Ford Edge eventually stopped on Route 15 where Jerrell Brodie, 18, was detained.

It was determined that the Ford Edge was reported stolen out of East Haven and was also involved in a pursuit with the East Haven and New Haven Police Departments, police said.

Brodie was charged with first-degree criminal attempted assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, second-degree larceny, and a series of motor vehicle infractions. Brodie was held on $75,000 bond, police said.

The identity of the juvenile is being withheld due to his age. He was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny and transferred to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center.

Authorities are looking to determine if the incident is connected to reports of a stolen vehicle on Colonial Road overnight, police said.
