Gregory Weathers, 33, was arraigned Monday on charges of murder, criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit and held on $1 million bond, the Post said.

Weathers had approached the road work site last Thursday on Chopsey Hill Road and asked about job. When told to apply at the office, Weathers felt he had been rebuffed and returned with a gun, shooting Jose Araujo, 31, several times, police said.

Two officers who were at the road construction site to direct traffic pursued the suspect on foot, set up a perimeter and were able to corral Weathers, who immediately confessed, police said.

He was apprehended behind a house on Saunders Avenue near his home, police said.
