STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Stratford woman allegedly lifted a co-worker's credit card then received a lift from the unaware victim to a store in Bridgeport where she used it to buy items, said police.
In the Friday incident, Laurie Greene, 46, stole the card from the co-worker's purse at Westport Health Care in Westport, police said.
She then used the card at a Walgreens in Bridgeport, according to police.
Greene was actually given a ride to the store by the co-worker moments before she made the fraudulent transaction, police said.
Westport officers and the victim were able to positively identify Greene on the store surveillance footage, on which she is seen purchasing two Vanilla gift cards totaling $209, according to police reports.
The victim did not know at that time that Greene had already stolen the card, said police.
She was stopped by the Fairfield Police Friday for motor vehicle charges, according to police.
Westport Police responded to Fairfield to take Greene into custody on an active warrant, police said.
Greene has been charged with credit card theft, sixth degree illegal use of a credit card, and sixth degree conspiracy to commit larceny, said police.
Greene was held on a $2,500 bond and has a court date in Norwalk on April 4, according to police.
