State Police Arrest Man With Drugs In Stolen Car On I-84 In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. — State police arrested a man on drug charges who was spotted on I-84 westbound in Danbury in a car stolen out of Denver.

State Police said they got a "hit" on a license plate reader on a car driven by Christopher Taylor, 35, of Windsor Locks, near Exit 8 in Danbury. 

State police stopped the car off Exit 6 at the Gulf gas station in Danbury and confirmed it was stolen.

A search with the help of a police K9 turned up Oxycontin and less than 4 ounces of marijuana in Taylor's possession and inside the car, state police said.

Taylor was charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of narcotics, possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.

Bond was set at $25,000. He is due in Danbury Superior Court on May 20.
