Weston Police posted on their Facebook page on Monday that the gunshots that some residents heard were just the sounds of the training exercise that was being conducted in the town of Fairfield. The noise had just happened to carry over the town line and catch the attention of some residents. The training had been scheduled for some time.

"We realize some people are on edge this morning in the wake of the shooting last night, and received a few calls about gunshots being heard from residents on the far west side of town," Weston Police wrote on Monday.

"We are glad to report there is no incident, and our thoughts and prayers are also with those who are involved with the Las Vegas incident."
