On Thursday, a 34-year-old Shelton woman was found dead in her home, and detectives investigating learned she had recently bought heroin from Corey Senior, 26, of New Haven, police said.

Detectives made contact with the suspected drug dealer, who agreed to meet them under the guise of selling heroin, police said.

Officers set up surveillance in downtown Shelton and took Senior into custody, police said. He removed a large amount of crack cocaine and heroin from his buttock region at the time of his arrest, police said.

He was charged with two counts of illegal possession, illegal possession with intent to sell and illegal possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school zone, police said.

Senior is being held on $150,000 bond.

The investigation into the suspected heroin overdose is ongoing with more arrests expected, police said.
