Tambria Raiford, 32, of Dekalb Avenue, Bridgeport, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and second-degree forgery in the incident first reported to police on Jan. 5, police said.

On that date, a manager from Crave told officers that someone had produced and cashed 10 fake payroll checks totaling about $8,500 and made out to nine people who are not employees of the restaurant, police said.

Loss prevention at Wal-Mart in Shelton provided surveillance video that showed Raiford cashing one of the checks, made out for $710, on Dec. 30, 2016, police said.

Raiford, who has prior arrests on weapons, burglary and larceny charges, was arrested on a warrant on Dec. 9, 2017, police said.

She was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 18. She is the second person arrested in the case and the investigation continues.
