WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police arrested a 19-year-old resident of the town after they said he interfered with an officer.
The arrest stemmed from a stop for a motor vehicle violation on Friday, March 18, at about midnight, police said.
The vehicle of the driver, identified as Nicholas Gutierrez-Tabor, was about to be towed as a result of the stop, according to officials.
While waiting for the tow truck to arrive, Gutierrez-Tabor walked by an officer and shoulder checked him, police reported.
Gutierrez-Tabor was taken into custody for his actions; the incident was witnessed by the tow truck operator, who gave a sworn statement, according to police.
Gutierrez-Tabor was charged with interfering with an officer. His bond was set at $1,000 and he will appear in court on Monday, March 28.
