Police Use Instagram To Make Arrest In Bridgeport Reckless Driving Case

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Connecticut State Police used social media to arrest a New Haven man who had been posting photos and video of reckless driving on motorcycles, four-wheelers and dirt bikes along Interstates 95 and 91, including in Bridgeport.

Police obtained a search warrant on Thursday from New Haven Superior Court and arrested 21-year old Gabriel Canestri Jr., the owner of the "Reckless_203" Instagram account where the videos and photos were posted.

Troopers were able to identify where the driving occurred through landmarks.

Canestri faces more than 60 counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving and operating a motorcycle without face protection.

He was arraigned in New Haven Superior Court and held on $50,000 bond.
