WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police have charged a 50-year-old town man with violating a protective order.
The suspect, identified as Ronald Bansak, was previously arrested in June on charges including risk of injury to children, second degree assault, disorderly conduct, unlawful restraint and interfering with an emergency 911 call, police said.
Bansak was given an order of protection instructing him not to have contact with the victim of the incident, or with others in the victim’s life, police said.
During July, however, Bansak proceeded to send several text messages to family members of the victim, police said.
A warrant was completed for Bansak’s arrest, and he was charged with three counts of criminal violation of a protective order, according to police.
Bansak turned himself in Monday, and posted $30,000 bond, police said.
