WESTPORT, Conn. — A New Milford man was arrested July 12 after an officer found him asleep at the wheel of a running car on Wilton Road, police said.
Andrew Hallas, 30, of Park Lane West, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said. He was held on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 21.
Around 6:30 p.m., a caller reported a white Volkswagen Jetta was driving erratically and crossing the double yellow line into oncoming traffic on Wilton Road, police said.
An officer found the car parked southbound near Overlook Road. The officer, who noticed several beer cans on the car's floor, woke Hallas, who failed a field sobriety test, police said.
