Police Nab Suspected Cocaine Dealer In Monroe

MONROE, Conn. -- A Monroe man was charged with selling cocaine in an investigation that stretched from Monroe to Stamford, according to the Monroe Courier.

An investigation was launched by the Stamford Police Department Narcotics Unit into cocaine sales, which led investigators to 56-year-old Michael Pinto of Monroe, according to the Monroe Courier. Police told the Monroe Courier that they discovered consistent deliveries to Monroe, and believed that Pinto was selling cocaine out of his home on Driftwood Road.

A warrant was secured to search his residence, where police found more than 50 grams of cocaine packaged for sale, the Monroe Courier reported. They also found loose prescription medications, as well as weapons and cash, the Monroe Courier reported. 

Pinto was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and two counts of failure to keep drugs in the original container, according to the Monroe Courier. He was released on a $20,000 bond and will appear in court on Aug. 25, according to the Monroe Courier.
