WESTPORT, Conn.  – A man committed suicide in his parents’ Westport home about an hour after killing his brother at a New Haven business, police said Monday.

Daniel Shwisha, 47-years-old from Woodbridge, was pronounced dead at about 9:13 a.m. Monday at Norwalk Hospital. Westport Police said Shwisha shot himself in the head at about 8:30 a.m. at his parents’ home on Rustic Lane.

Daniel Shwisha took his own life after killing his brother, Gordon Shwisha, in the parking lot of Electrix, an industrial lighting wholesaler in New Haven, New Haven Police said. Police responded to the company’s parking lot at about 7:47 a.m. Monday and found Gordon Shwisha dead after being shot several times in his Jeep.

New Haven Police Officer David Hartman declined to comment on what may have prompted the shooting. Electrix is listed as a family business, according to New Haven Police.
