On Wednesday, Sept. 27, a worker from a tree company called police to say that he believed a burglary had taken place on Brookside Road. He said that he had been going to residents on the home to speak with homeowners about doing some work on the street. That morning, he found that glass had been broken in the front door of a home, police said.
The door appeared to have been forcibly opened, police said. The worker said that when he was there the day before, the door was not damaged. The homeowner was contacted, and the incident is under investigation, police said.
In a separate incident, an Easton resident came to the police department on Thursday, Sept. 28 and reported that a painting had been stolen from her home. The case is under investigation, police said.
