Person Struck By Train in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday Metro-North Rail reported that a trespasser had been struck on the rails by the Fairfield Metro station.

The train was New Haven-bound from Grand Central and was reported as being full. According to a Metro-North spokesman, the train was delayed around 90 minutes before moving forward. On the Metro-North twitter account they reported only that the delay was due to “police activity.”

Fairfield Police reported to the scene, although they are not investigating the incident.

As of 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning the spokesman said that he had no further information from the MTA police on the person who was struck.
