WESTPORT, Conn. -- Two people are facing charges after a pair of off-duty Westport police officers working a side job Monday morning stopped a suspected stolen car, police said.
Just after 9 a.m., the officers heard a broadcast about a vehicle stolen out of Stratford, police said. A short time later, they saw the vehicle as they worked at the site of project on King's Highway North. They were able to stop the vehicle without any incident and arrested the two occupants, police said.
Artay Drinks, 43, of 23 Murray St., Ansonia, was charged with third-degree larceny and possession of narcotics. Naima West, 36, of 702 Central Ave., Bridgeport, was charged with third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. Bond was set at $10,000 for Drinks and $5,000 for West.
