NYC Catholic School Dean Charged With Heroin Possession In Wilton

WILTON, Conn. – The dean of a Catholic high school in Manhattan was arrested in Wilton last Thursday and charged with possession of heroin, police said.

Nicholas deSpoelberch, of Phillips Lane in Darien, was found in possession of several bags of heroin after police were called to Old Highway Extension to investigate a car stopped in the roadway, police said.

DeSpoelberch, 35, is dean of students at Regis High School, according to the school’s website.

In addition to the heroin, drug paraphernalia and pills in a plastic bag were found in the car, the police report said.

DeSpoelberch was charged with possession of narcotics, a felony. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and retention of pills in an original container. He was held on $2,500 bond and is due at Norwalk Superior Court on July 22.
