The teen went to police headquarters with a parent and reported the incident, which took place in the area of East Avenue and Cemetery Street at around 4 p.m., police said.
The teen said he was walking when an older man came up to him and demanded his wallet, police said. The man was holding something in his hand, and the teen could not be sure whether it was a weapon, police said. He gave his wallet to the man, who then left, police said.
Police said the suspect was described as a white man in his 60s, about 5 feet, 4 inches tall with gray, wavy hair. The Special Victims Unit is following up on the incident.
