Police said Aaron Everhart resisted arrest and swung at police officers after they arrived at the residence on a report of a screaming woman, police said.

Arriving officers were familiar with the residence from previous disturbance calls and were aware of a protective order in place to protect the resident from the boyfriend, police said.

During the investigation, officers learned that Everhart had assaulted the victim, police said.

Everhart was charged with assault on a police officer, criminal violation of a protective order, interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct, police said.

Everhart failed to post $25,000 bond. His court date was July 6, police said.
