Norwalk Man Charged In Westport Assault

WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport police arrested a Norwalk man on charges of grabbing and striking a victim in the face and stopping the victim from calling 911, police said.

Westport officers were called to a Franklin Street address on a report of a disturbance at 11:20 p.m. on Jan. 22, police said.They found the victim bleeding from the head, but the accused, James Olivia, 52, had left the scene, police said.

He was located at his home and was arrested an charged with third-degree assault and interfering with an emergency call. He was held on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.
