WESTPORT, Conn. — A 31-year-old woman from New Jersey is facing forgery charges in Westport after she turned herself in to police on an arrest warrant.
Nadine Mahmoud is accused of falsifying doctor’s prescriptions in order to obtain prescription narcotics, police said. A warrant for Mahmoud’s arrest was issued following several weeks of investigation, police said.
Mahmoud was charged with two counts of third-degree forgery, a misdemeanor, and obtaining controlled substances by fraud, a felony. She was also charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. She was held on a $50,000 bond.
