New Canaan Man Charged In Norwalk After Entering Wrong Store With BB Gun

NORWALK, Conn. — A New Canaan man in his 70s was charged on Tuesday after walking into an electronics store in Norwalk with a BB gun, mistakenly thinking it was a sporting goods store, according to the Hour.

The man walked into the P.C. Richards at 444 Connecticut Ave. on Tuesday at around 1:20 p.m. with the BB rifle over his shoulder, prompting calls to the police, according to the Hour. The 72-year-old man had mistakenly entered the appliance store when he had meant to enter Dick's Sporting Goods, where he wanted to have the BB gun repaired, the Hour reported.

Police arrived and quickly located the man, who told police that he had entered the wrong store, according to the Hour. He was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released on a promise to appear in court, according to the Hour.
