Mover Charged With Stealing Gun From Westport Home

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 28-year-old Bridgeport man turned himself in to Westport Police Friday morning on a warrant charging him with stealing a handgun from a Westport resident last month, police said.

Samuel Rodriguez allegedly stole the gun while working for a moving company that was moving the resident’s belongings, the police report said. The gun was reported stolen on July 9, police said.

Rodriguez was charged with stealing a firearm, a class D felony, and released after posting a $10,000 bond. He is due in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday.
